Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindess in the U.S. affecting over 2 million people, most of which didn't even know they had glaucoma. Glaucoma is caused by a build up of fluid in the eye which can damage the optic nerve causing vision to fade. Glaucoma most often occurs in people over 40 and the risk increases with age, with family history and diabetics.
